HISTORY OF THE TIEN TAO SYSTEM

Tien Tao was founded in Tibet, but was influenced by a number of countries including China, India, Nepal, Persia and Mongolia. Oral history states that much of the metaphysical aspects of Tien Tao started in India and drifted into Tibet where they were mixed with very powerful Tibetan doctrines to become powerful meditations. The meditations were very popular with priests and acolytes, who carried it into China where it exploded in popularity. Tien Tao then moved back into Tibet where it was developed further. on time, it flowed back and forth between China and Tibet and eventually flowed into surrounding countries. When Tien Tao was first becoming formed it became a popular term to refer to a number of powerful meditation systems. Later it became a term to describe a particular set of powerful meditations and a particular system of teaching.

The fact that Tien Tao remained popular and unchanged through the many Dynasties, and its incorporation into many religions showed its flexibility and the real need for a system like this among the common people. There were many different religions that utilized the Tien Tao meditations including Chinese Taoism, Tibet Lamaism, Japanese Shintoism, and various Shaman systems in Mongolia, New Guinea and Australia. The popularity of Tien Tao has been well documented by many references in Chinese common and State literature. Several Taoist writings, including those of So Chuang Sa, who was a disciple of Lao Tsu, made references to doing Tien Tao meditations. The writings of numerous Chinese masters described how they incorporated their knowledge of Tien Tao into the martial arts or health systems they devised.

For several thousand years, Tien Tao was considered part of a basic education for Chinese healers and scholars. It was considered a fundamental part of the esoteric studies of the secret East and has only recently become public. Today, many people in acupuncture, Feng Shui, herbology, astrology, and other disciplines are schooled in some of its principles, but not in the specifics of this powerful Meditation System. Without those specifics, much of the precious gifts of Tien Tao are lost.

Currently, the Masters of The Imperial Wu Tang Temple are designing programs to allow this magnificent and far-reaching System to be offered to the general public once again, in a format that is easy to learn and replete with benefits.
